About

I live at the intersection of art, technology, and entrepreneurship. A classical cellist since the age of nine, I grew up performing regularly in orchestras and chamber ensembles. Ultimately, my passion for the music led me to complete a degree at Berklee College of Music. Immersed in a world of talent, I quickly became fascinated by how the arts were being dramatically transformed by emerging trends in technology. My focus has since been facilitating more dialogue and collaboration across creative and non-creative disciplines through micro hackathons and research initiatives.

While studying in Boston, I helped launch and became the co-director of the country's first festival exploring innovation in music, performance art, fashion, design, virtual reality, gaming, and film/television. Held annually at the MIT Media Lab, Hacking Arts is now a premier event for students and professionals to connect and collaborate over the course of a 3-day weekend. This experience opened up a world of new possibilities for living a creative life, with music and technology as the backdrop.

I eventually relocated to San Francisco where I joined a team of artists and technologists working to develop an interactive biometric data platform for live entertainment. At Lightwave, we integrated our technology at music, sport, and film events across the U.S. and gained recognition as pioneers in the newly claimed "emotion tech economy". I left the company after a year to complete my degree and explore new opportunities in academia.

Currently, I live and work in New York City. I’ve been working on developing two music and technology courses at MIT: Music & Health Devices and an Instrument Design Seminar, and a VR/AR Studio. I also launched Squid & Co: a creative consulting firm focused on leveraging the arts to forge new types of innovation within brands and corporations. I continue to perform regularly with Me/2 Orchestra, a non-profit classical music organization erasing stigma in mental health, and travel often to visit family in Vermont.
